Then we go into an insert of another character (which again I will elaborate more on later), who I kind of envision as an "entrepeneur" type visionary promoting a 'Child Development Program' that funds the travel and education of children from 'less developed countries' to 'more developed countries'. They kind of explain this 'program' in a similar way to how Nancy does in Okja's Opening. There is a completely black background behind them to create a scary mood. Inserts of this character explaining this program, would be inserted back and forth with shots of the kid being dropped off at their new schools, which would be used to show their connection, and also for irony. For example, as the CEO talks about "opportunities" the shot could go back to an eyeline match of the main character looking out into destitution in the street. Throughtout these shots, the audio from the presentation is going to be interlaced with audio from the car moving.

Nancy from Okja, Inspiration for the Ceo Character.
In one of these Insert shots, I want to use a low angle to show how this
CEO type person, speaks from a place of authority. Then the child steps
out towards the school, and stings and eerie sounds and music is gonna be used to portray a
scary tone. The fancy School of high socio-economic level is juxtaposed
with the previous area shown which looked poor and rundown. The child
then starts walking up to the school, the driver wishes them good luck,
and as the CEO in the insert starts discussing "Security", it cuts back
to shots of the school showing fences, and guards standing outside with
batons, and the audio elements and editing become more panicked with
quick cuts, stings, and eerie music increasing. It cuts back to the
insert and as the CEO continues presenting, his voice and the video
becomes distorted, and it glitches into a broken TV type static, which
then uses a soundbridge into a school bell ringing. The Opening ends with a shot of the clock, and then the child studying at the school.
This Post gives me a good idea of where I want to take my project, but in future blogs I want to get deeper into exactly how these production ideas will be executed. So, to have a bit of an idea of where I plan to take the blog going for I'll probably explore deeper into who my main characters will be and a potential cast, and also get together a list of possible shot locations, so that I can start working on a shooting schedule and start organizing with actors. This process should take the next 2-3 weeks, and by the end of that, I should be ready to delve into post-production and any last production touches.
