Location Brainstorming

Following on from the second group meeting, although for me there weren't any major revelations. This was not the case for some of my other group members. Nicole came back from her group and was excitedly telling us about how someone told her something really interesting. One of our big problems with filming has always been how do we film in a bathroom. There's just a lot of weird logistical problems with it that we kind of considered too late and that we're now kind of stuck with. But someone recommended a really good idea.

I'm kind of surprised we didn't think about it first. But they kind of said you can get a public bathroom that kind of looks like a school bathroom in any government building. And we had considered this but we had kind of thought there is not going to be any public building where we're just going to be able to walk into a bathroom and start filming. Until we thought about public parks. Or well rather until Mariano thought about it in our group meetings and told us about it told Nicole about it. The good thing with this is that if you go really early in the morning to a public park we have really nearby that we've gone to that has pretty school looking bathrooms no one's gonna be there and we're not getting a nuisance to anyone and we can just close it off for a quick moment and do some filming.

A park bathroom, looks a lot like a school bathroom, but is at the right time pretty empty!

And then the other thing that someone suggested tp Nicole was in terms of actually getting the drawing on the bathroom wall now this we're still kind of considering we're between two different options for this reason the first option is what we had originally thought which was to grab a wall or some sort of flat surface paint it Gray make it look kind of bathroom wal-lish and then make your own artificial wall that we can film on at home and then just be careful with the shots that we only film it he shots where you can't tell that it's actually outside of the bathroom. This has the logistical problem that it might look disconnected but it also saves us from having to film longer than we need to in the bathroom. However someone recommended another option which was to use clear tape. Now honestly I'm actually not that big of a fan of the clear tape as tape is kind of really easy to see and it's just doesn't work that well however if we use some sort of other clear film such as wrap or plastic wrap that actually does seem like a really good idea because it would allow us to prepare everything beforehand and then go in and fill everything much more quickly this is kind of give us the best of both worlds as they would give us extra time outside and allow and still allow it to look pretty good and would have those same continuity problems sort of lighting all that logistical hassle.new paragraph

Emma's simple and ingenious suggestion to draw on the bathroom walls without doing anything wrong.

Right now I think that idea recommend the group really is our best thing we can do for this reason some element we just simply grab some sort of clear film like plastic wrap do all of our work beforehand and then go in and put it over. I'm going to do some testing with some plastic wrap but this looks like a really promising idea in terms of the location we found we've all gone through this park all the Regional Park which I think would be a really good fit for this as they have a lot of very school core bathrooms.
