Hey blog! Welcome to the final start of my portfolio blogging for A level. I'm very excited to see what I'm going to accomplish with this project and how I am going to continue on from the work I did in AS level, here we go!
To start off, the first thing that I was immediately sure off after AS level last year was that I wanted to work in a group. Although there is a lot of freedom that comes with being a single member in a group, it is also a big burden to undertake. Working alone on such a comprehensive project, its hard to manage it all from planning and keeping only yourself accountable, to editing, and filming, it was a lot. I felt as if the quality of my project suffered from this over-independence as the old saying holds true, 'there is no worse critic than oneself'. I would constantly question my own choices and instead of providing me with freedom, total creative independence felt constraining as I got lost in the big ideas rather than in the execution.
So here we are, I am going to be working with two group members Nicole and Manuela! I have worked with them throughout many projects in both AS and A level and they are two of the best friends I have made in AICE Media. Everytime we have worked together, even if it has come with the regular challenges that come with a group I have always felt very proud of our results. I feel as if our skill sets in editing, production, and writing complement each other in a very comprehensive way and I am excited to see what we will accomplish working together this time.

Brainstorming on Onenote |
For this project we've had a long brainstorming phase as we want to make sure we pick the very best idea we think we can execute but for now we've chosen The Short story.
We worked on a documentary earlier this year as a group on the documentary project and thoroughly enjoyed the process and really loved the final result. As mentioned in the pre-portfolio blogs, this documentary involved documenting the lives of spoken word poets. As a result of our great time with this project, inititally we were driven to potentially giving another documentary a shot. However, we had a really fun idea that we are very excited about for a potential short story and wanted to try something differently and see what we can do with another medium. Stay tuned for so much more in future blogs, im really excited to see how this idea continues to develop.
