Hey again blog! Today we did something really fun and interesting in class and got to engage with different groups about our projects. Our teacher always tries to create spaces where we can interact with different groups and through those interactions both contribute to other projects and get new ideas for our own projects. To be completely honest I was a little nervous coming into plus because I was exhausted and came from a day of little sleep and the thought of talking to other human beings was kind of horrifying But the spite my poor mood I ended up really enjoying the activity it made me really excited to see more of my classmates projects so I got really intrigued with a lot of their ideas additionally it also helped me improve a lot on my own project and it was really cool to get some external validation for ideas that I really liked and also some constructive criticism for points that needed improvement.
My discussion group was made-up of five people each with distinct project groups meaning that they each were working on separate projects (no project groups were in the same discussion group). To organize our discussion Ms. Stoklosa recommended that we create a shared document where we could put each other's contributions and make notes and suggestions. I opened this document and immediately shared it to my group members using Google Docs because honestly Google Docs supremacy word passes me off. Then I marked down everyone's name and started helping to type up criticisms or advice for each one of the projects.

It gave me a lot of interesting perspective to see the other projects and the approaches that were coming on. One interesting idea that came up while discussing another project that I thought was really applicable to my own is when Isabel was talking about how another one of their groups in order to get actors sent out a casting call to our school's theater program and they actually got a lot of callbacks and they were all really eager to get involved with the project. One thing that I've been very scared about throughout the project is getting good actors add in general actors at all it's a really busy season and a lot of people are not available. However it's really cool to learn about this idea as it helps get really qualified actors that want to act and help out with your project. It also felt really cool to be able to contribute ideas to other people's projects that they might not have thought about for example in isabella's project I recommended doing some research on some artists for her music marketing project that she hadn't thought about before. In the same vein they also recommended me different things that I could look at that were related to my own project for example Nathaniel had a few ideas for a few different movies that have well shot bathrooms, which was something that I hadn't really looked at yet but that I actually need really needed to because our bathroom shots are some of our biggest worries for how we're going to get them shot correctly. The movie features the teachers he suggested were beach bum and warriors a 70s movie with a bathroom fight scene. Another interesting point Nathaniel had with these two movies specifically is that bathrooms can either be funny or serious or a little bit of both and I have to be very intentional with where I choose to take it.

When it comes to the criticisms they gave me for my own project One idea that they're really helping develop develop was the idea that the different characters would be in different cliques and social circles. They really like this idea and agreed that the bathroom was a cool way to convey this as it showed how under a setting where social expectations are undermined social restraints and cliques break down. In terms of some constructive criticism one thing that we all noticed about each other's projects is that we all need to quicken our pace and develop scripts and storyboards as soon as we can. We all liked each others ideas a lot and provided a lot of general advice that was very good towards helping develop our ideas further, but the next step for all of us is putting all of those ideas into concrete action and moving our projects forward.
